Arrangements and transcriptions of Vivaldi by J S Bach, Chedeville and Passacaglia.
Vivaldi, as popular in the baroque period as now, was unashamedly imitated, borrowed-from and re-arranged by composers across Europe. In this invigorating album, Passacaglia explores and re-arranges Vivaldi’s music as it masquerades in various different guises, with music from Chédeville’s ‘Saisons Amusantes’, French-styled sonatas imitating the Red Priest, JS Bach’s transcriptions in homage to Vivaldi, and Passacaglia’s own take on the famously wild ‘La Folia’ Variations. With guest artist Tobie Miller – Vielle.
