The Berlin Bach
An exploration of the extraordinarily dynamic music for flute and harpsichord by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, court musician to the famous flute-playing king of Prussia, Frederick the Great. As well as works by Emanuel himself, the programme includes music by members of his musical circle JJ Quantz and Benda, as well as that of his illustrious father, Johann Sebastian, and of his inspirational godfather GP Telemann.
